Dr Tim Angus (PhD)

Tim has been working in the field of motorsport for over 20 years. He completed a PhD on the Italian Motorsport Industry in 2001. Tim’s three main areas of research expertise within motorsport are:

  • policy research on the economic impact of motorsport (both sport and industry) for government;
  • market intelligence on motorsport for the sport’s governing bodies and trade associations, and;
  • targeted market research for the global motorsport industry.

Tim’s clients have included the UK Government, motorsport trade associations, the FIA and various ASN's, as well as independent businesses in the global motorsport industry in the UK and Italy.

Tim is also an Honorary Assistant Professor at the Centre for Business in Society at Coventry University in the UK, where his focus is on economic development and innovation policy, specifically around the global motorsport industry.

Tim’s work has been widely featured in the specialist motorsport press and mainstream media. He has also featured as an expert interviewee for BBC Radio, The Economist, The Telegraph and the Financial Times and is co-author of the leading book on the global industry of motorsport:

He is a founding member of Studio Mgi Vannucci & Partners (CPAs) and member of the Order of Chartered Pubblic Accountants of Lucca since 1984. The firm comprises four partners and twelve highly qualified professionals.

He has extensive experience in tax consultancy, including international, corporate and bankruptcy proceedings. He also deals with contracts, financing and financial management of the company, extraordinary operations, consulting for family businesses and generational transfers.

In particular, he is passionate about international business development and business networks development (a novel form of organisational development introduced and regulated by the Italian law since 2010). On the subject matter he has been actively working since 2011 as speaker to several national events in Italy as well as actually creating and managing business networks in various sectors. He is also delegate for the Lucca Provence of AssoretiPMI, an Italian national association for business networks.

He also holds the position of Auditor in private companies and companies with mainly public capital and the position of coordinator of the internationalization commission for CPAs of Lucca.
