Automotive Women Association
The association
AWA (Automotive Women Association) is a non-profit organization made up of professionals involved in the automotive industry. Through its initiatives and training activities, AWA is dedicated to building a future in which women are protagonists in the innovation and development of the automotive industry.
History
The Association was born from an idea by Monica Zanetti and Laura Tancredi.
Monica boasts a 35-year career at Ferrari and Maserati, where she held high-level roles and was a pioneering figure in the automotive industry, being the first woman to work on the construction of cars in the bodywork department.
Laura Tancredi, with a past as manager of the Pagani Automobili Museum and Atelier, has contributed to the growth and success of this prestigious brand for more than a decade.
Mission
to inspire change and reduce the gender gap through:
- sharing stories of women who have broken barriers and achieved important milestones in the automotive sector, serving as inspiration for new generations;
- overcoming all forms of gender stereotypes, encouraging a culture of inclusion and equality in the motoring world;
- supporting concretely (throgh actual training and networking activities) the entry and affirmation of young women in the automotive sector, through targeted initiatives that aim to strengthen their presence and influence in the sector in all the desired roles relevant to the fields: testers, drivers, engineers, qualified technicians.
