The eSkootr Championship™ is delighted to announce a new long-term technical partnership with YCOM.
The Italian advanced technology firm which has a strong track record in designing and manufacturing vehicle technology for a number of racing operations, including winners in Formula 1 and the FIA World Endurance Championship, will develop, build and supply eSkootrs for the forthcoming electric racing series.
It has already been involved in the launch of several new racing series – both on the supplier and customer side – and will bring its experience and expertise in high performance electric vehicle technology to bear on this new partnership.
The recently launched S1-X Skootr will be supplied as a common part to all entrants for eSC’s opening seasons in order to efficiently manage and scale competitor costs. From 2023, however, teams will have greater freedom to develop and build their own eSkootr race models in the championship.
Hrag Sarkissian, eSkootr Championship™ co-founder and CEO, said:
“We’re delighted to be collaborating so closely with YCOM. They have already started to develop and iterate our S1-X eSkootr prototype, introducing a number of key updates to the initial design.
“Their expertise and experience are well proven, and their commitment to sustainability is closely aligned to our own. We’re really excited to be creating this strategic and long-term partnership. Like us, YCOM is committed to innovating on the track with the potential for significant knowledge and technology transfer to the fast-evolving micromobility sector on the road.”
Nicola Scimeca, YCOM Founder and CBDO, said:
“We’re really excited to be part of this new challenge at the forefront of the mobility revolution. eSC shares our technological mission, and the eSkootr project is a unique and fascinating opportunity to shape an entirely new category of sport.
“The eSC vision of racing and road relevance, of technology development driven by sustainability, is perfectly aligned with our own strategy. We are delighted to form this new long-term partnership to help create a new future for motorsport and mobility.”
